TWO ROOMS Reopens April 2 with a Bold New Concept
With a Sophisticated Fusion of Jazz, DJ Performances, and
Art Experience World-Class Entertainment Dining

TWO ROOMS – one of Tokyo’s most iconic international social destinations, is set to unveil a bold new concept on April 2nd, following an extensive renovation.
Located on the 5th floor of the Ao Building in Minato-ku, Aoyama, TWO ROOMS has long been celebrated for its refined atmosphere, stunning terrace, and contemporary seasonal cuisine. Now, with a fresh update to its design, culinary experience, music, and entertainment, it is evolving into a vibrant entertainment dining destination, stimulating all five senses. Seamlessly transitioning from day to night and into the late hours, the new TWO ROOMS will offer an ever-changing, exhilarating hospitality experience.

Since its opening in 2009, TWO ROOMS has made an indelible mark on Tokyo’s vibrant dining and social scene. Blending cutting-edge culinary techniques with carefully selected local and international ingredients, the restaurant has become a beloved spot for special occasions and celebrations. Over the years, TWO ROOMS has been the backdrop for countless weddings, marriage proposals, family and friends gatherings, and milestone events, welcoming both first-time guests and neighbourhood regulars, as well as celebrities from around the world. This transformation builds upon its rich 16-year legacy, elevating both comfort and exclusivity, while introducing innovative elements to create a truly exceptional experience.

A Global Culinary Journey with an Elevated Grill Concept

Under the leadership of Founding Partner & Chef Matthew Crabbe, TWO ROOMS will continue its signature approach—highlighting the natural essence of seasonal ingredients with refined simplicity. However, the renewed menu introduces a more exploratory, globally inspired fusion cuisine that invites diners on a culinary journey. Dishes like the Nori Wraps, featuring premium ingredients such as wagyu tartare and uni, or the Bonito Tataki Carpaccio paired with seasonal greens and bottarga, showcase the best of Japanese ingredients while drawing influence from international culinary traditions. Signature dishes that have been beloved for years, such as the TWO ROOMS Caesar Salad and the Crabbe Cakes and the 80% Dark Chocolate Tart will remain on the menu, ensuring a comforting sense of continuity amidst innovation.

Chef Matthew Crabbe said “TWO ROOMS has always been about delivering an elevated dining experience, and with this renewal, we’re taking it to the next level. Inspired by the Japanese sense of beauty and craftsmanship, our new concept pays tribute to the precision, seasonality, and artistry of Japan’s culinary heritage. By sourcing the highest quality ingredients and presenting them with refined simplicity, we create a beautiful fusion of tradition and modern luxury.”

A Dynamic Space Shifting from Day to Night

The newly reimagined space has once again been designed by San Francisco-based Eight Inc., the original design firm behind TWO ROOMS. Maintaining the venue’s iconic open terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows, the interior design seamlessly integrates with Tokyo’s cityscape. A warm yet contemporary palette of light sand, camel, and hunter green, combined with natural materials like granite, brass, and leather, reflects the ever-changing moods of the day—from sunlit afternoons to golden-hour sunsets and vibrant nightlife.
At the heart of the space remains the Swamp Kauri bar counter, a 50,000-year-old New Zealand timber centerpiece, symbolizing the connection between past and future.

TWO ROOMS will offer two distinct experiences:
Atelier 246 – An elegant, refined setting ideal for daytime dining and sophisticated evenings.
Vista Lounge – A contemporary space infused with digital activations, bringing a modern edge to the nightlife scene.

A Private Dining Room Honoring Craftsmanship & Creativity

Nestled beyond the walk-in wine cellar, the Private Dining Room has been reimagined as a sanctuary of creativity, fashion, and craftsmanship. Overlooking the bustling Aoyama-dori, this space embodies the refined style TWO ROOMS has cultivated over 16 years. As part of the relaunch, the room will feature an exclusive collaboration with milliner Thom O’Brien (Bona Capello), whose hat installation—showcasing the evolution of global hat cultures from British bowler hats to South American Panama hats—adds a distinctive artistic touch. Set against the backdrop of Omotesando’s fashion-forward culture, this intimate space harmonizes global craftsmanship, innovation, and beauty, providing an unparalleled dining experience.

Entertainment Dining: A Fusion of Music, Visual Art, and Culinary Excellence

The essence of the new TWO ROOMS lies in its immersive entertainment experience, transforming urban nightlife into a dazzling escape through music and visual artistry. Inspired by Omotesando’s status as a hub for fashion and lifestyle, the venue will feature live jazz performances every Friday evening, setting a refined, laid-back atmosphere for dinner, followed by world-class DJs from 10:00 PM onwards, bringing high-energy sets that elevate Tokyo’s nightlife. State-of-the-art visual installations further enhance the ambiance, adding a cutting-edge sensory layer to the dining and lounge experience.

Incorporating elements from leading entertainment dining destinations in cities like New York, London, Dubai, and across Asia, TWO ROOMS is redefining the genre for Tokyo. The DJ booth, previously limited to the bar area, now extends throughout the venue, supported by advanced sound systems and a dedicated live performance stage. From jazz-infused dinners to dynamic weekend club nights, guests can enjoy a thoughtfully curated musical journey that evolves throughout the week.

A New Chapter for TWO ROOMS

With its transformation into a luxurious entertainment dining destination, TWO ROOMS invites both long-time patrons and first-time visitors to indulge in a redefined sense of “extraordinary.” Whether you seek a relaxed afternoon meal, an elegant dinner, or an exhilarating night out, TWO ROOMS seamlessly blends refined hospitality, world-class cuisine, and immersive entertainment—ensuring every visit is as exciting and memorable as the last.
